Kimba The White Lion

This was a top professional dubbing of a collaborative effort between the American syndication company and the Japanese creator and his production company. It seems amazing, then, that so many variations and alternate versions exist.

There are:

• Two completely different dubbed versions of the first episode ("Go, White Lion").
  The first version has been considered lost, until now.

• Two different performances of the famous Kimba theme song,
  referred to as the "common" version and the "alternate" version. The "alternate" theme song has been found, on an unspliced 16mm TV print. Click here to get an MP3 file of it. It is still not on any home video release.
  
  
• Two different edits of another episode, "Fair Game",
  or perhaps I should say one complete version and one short version. The American Kimba VHS tapes had the short version, but the American DVDs contain the complete version of this episode. Hooray!

As of now, the official released VHS tapes and DVDs present us with only the "common" version of the Kimba theme song, only the replacement version of the first episode, and only the shortened version of the "Fair Game" episode. The other versions obviously exist; maybe they could be found in collectors' stashes around the world. Please write if you have any of these Kimba films!
