Kimba The White Lion
a.k.a. Kimba The Lion Prince
1965 production, dubbed 1993 Canada
Starring Yvonne Murray as Kimba

Because of the long period that the original dubbed version of Kimba was not available (1978 - 2000), a Canadian company produced a new English-language version of the show.

While the Canadian actors were below the standards set by Billie Lou Watt and company, and new music was added, replacing Isao Tomita's rich and atmospheric score, the scripts used for these dubbings were generally interesting and apparently reasonably faithful to the original Japanese scripts. The writer of the English scripts, Alisa Lin, thus gave us a new and sometimes clearer view of Tezuka's stories.

The version of Kimba has been broadcast in Europe for over 10 years. It has just recently come to the US, and is available on both cable and broadcast TV.
Only a few of these episodes have ever appeared in the U.S. on home video, some of them under the title "Kimba the Lion Prince". Each episode is shortened from the Japanese original by about 3 minutes.

It appears that all home video releases of this series are out of print.
